The department of History is among the oldest department of Govt Siddarth College Nadaun. The Department came into existence in the year 1995 with graduate course in History. The courses offered by the department are affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University Shimla. Department has implemented the choice based credit system (CBCS) for grading B.A. students as per the guidelines of HPU.

Department has one regular faculty member having specialization in Indian History, Modern World History and Gender History. The Department normally acquires the latest books and journals for the college library where students can make the maximum use of them.

Tutorial form an integral part of the teaching method in the department. The use of historical map is also made to improve the learning process of the students.

Apart from being involved in under graduate teaching the faculty of the department has been actively engaged in wide ranging research activities covering a large number of national and regional topics/ subjects.

Since its inception the department is doing great job of putting efforts to achieve the academic goals of the students.
